For our family night lesson, we had decided to talk about the Temple. Josh handed Benjamin a picture of the Portland Temple and asked, "Do you know what that is?" Benjamin quickly responded, "TEMPLE." I asked him, "Do you know whose house that is and he answered, "Jesus!" Josh went on to explain that the Temple is a holy place where we must be reverent. He said, "there is a very special feeling there," Benjamin, interrupting Josh, asked "Spirit?!?" Sometimes I wonder if he might know more than I do; I think next time he will be in charge of the lesson.Now whenever we drive past the Temple, or any building that has a steeple (or something that might look like one) Benjamin says, ""Temple."
That is really neat to know that at such a young age how much they really do understand. I never ceases to amaze me at how fast they grow up. You are amazing parents.

ReplyDeleteNot only did he say spirit, but he did the sign language too. I was blown away because I didn't expect him to understand anything I was saying.

Maybe we could meet at Willow Park sometime. Are you going to Peach Days? I think we'll be going to the parade. If you go, we could sit together.
