Well two days after posting that I think 6 weeks is not enough time, I ended up in the hospital last night. I had been contracting all day and tried everything. I drank so much water my feet and hands were huge. I took two long baths. I spent as much time laying on my side as possible. This is everything my Dr has told me to do. If anyone has any other suggestions to slow down contractions, please let me know. Around 9:30pm the contractions were between 5 and 10 minutes apart and I was in so much pain I couldn't stop crying (hormones are probably a huge factor in this as well). So Josh decided that we should go to the hospital. My Dr is out of town this week so the Dr on call had them give me a muscle relaxer that makes your uterus relax thus (hopefully) slowing the contractions. The shot worked and we came back home. I started contracting again at church this morning and decided to come home and rest. I seem to be doing okay as long as I stay laying down.
Benjamin was born at 35 weeks and I am now almost 34 weeks with this baby. I had really hoped to have a full-term healthy baby this time. Now I am wondering if I am going to need to buy some Preemie size clothes and diapers.
Very glad to hear you are doing much better!!! Hope that you can stay down, if you need anything just call. You are in our prayers, hope you can hold that sweet little girl in a little longer!!! She is just like you though she wants to surprise everyone... :) The only thing that I could tell you is that my Dr. told me to just sleep as much as you can. You breath slower and your whole body relaxes. I don't know if that will help much though. Love ya tons!!! Please let me know if I can help!!!
ReplyDeleteI know it's not much but if you wanted to send Benjamin home with the boys this week, I am sure he would have lots of fun here and you could rest.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gabi but a lot of people in the ward/neighborhood have offered to let him come play while I rest. This works better because he can be home at night and he sleeps best in his own bed.
