I have been waiting for this day for a LONG time...okay maybe not THAT long. Anyway, today I am turning 27 on the 27th!!!

For some reason, 27 is my favourite number. When I was little I used to dream about being 27. I don't think that little me's picture of 27-year-old me was quite what the actual 27-year-old me turned out to be.

Back then, I wanted to be a doctor making lots of money and wearing nice clothes. I wanted to be important. A husband, kids, and a mini-van, were never part of the plan.

I think that I am living-proof that when we let God be in charge of our lives, things turn out so much better.

I am now married to the man of my dreams. He listens to me whine about being fat, and then makes midnight trips to the store to buy me ice cream. He cleans the bathroom, takes out the trash, and even kills spiders for me. He asks all his friends for ideas to help morning sickness and then comes home from the store with Jolly Rancher candies, Candy Canes, Ginger snaps, Ginger-ale, Ginger tea, crackers, and 7up.

I have 2 of the most amazing (somewhat accident prone) kids in the whole world. My son is always trying to cheer me up by telling "jokes." My daughter is always ready for snuggling. They are both silly, and sweet, and perfect. I really, honestly, truly believe that my kids are cuter than anybody else's.

I think the biggest difference between little me's view of grown-up me and the actual grown-up me is my testimony. I can't put into words the many ways that becoming a member of the LDS church has changed me. All of my dreams and goals have changed so drastically. My testimony may not have a lot of words but it does have a lot of faith, power, and strength. I know that without my Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost as a constant companion, I would not be where I am today.

Well anyway, Happy Birthday to me!!! Here's to being 27!!

  1. Brittany!!! What is up?!? I haven't heard from you in FOREVER!!!

  2. What a beautiful testimony--I really needed to hear that one today! Thanks for sharing your feelings, and I really am glad you married such a fantastic guy! Happy 27!
